General Cargo

Brazil is one of the most important producers and exporters of commodities and also has a growing production of semi-manufactured and manufactured products, such as:

  • Marble and Granite;
  • Coffee;
  • Steel Products;
  • Sugar;
  • Auto Parts;
  • Machinery and Equipment;
  • Pig Iron.

Marble and granite

The State of Espírito Santo exports more than 1.8 Million tonnes (close to US$1 Billion) of marble and granite every year, which is more than 70% of Brazil’s export. These Ornamental Stones are exported as rough blocks, weighing over 40 tons as breakbulk cargo, and also as processed slabs in containers.

Located 55 km from Porto Central, the Municipality of Cachoeiro de Itapemirim is home to the main region of marble and granite production center in Brazil. Porto Central is working closely together with this industry segment to provide a marble and granite processing area in the port, as well as a terminal.

Coffee

Brazil is the world’s largest producer of coffee (51 million sacks in 2016) and the world’s largest exporter (34 million sacks in 2016). Located in the Southwest Region of Brazil, the States of Minas Gerais and Espírito Santo are considered the largest coffee producers in Brazil, with around 45% of Brazilian production, around 40 million bags of coffee per year.

Due to its strategic position, in the Southern Region of the State of Espírito Santo, Porto Central will be a new logistical corridor for the flow of cargo, enabling the storage of coffee and terminal areas for containerized exports and loose cargo.
