Porto Central Advances in Phase 1

Porto Central is making progress with the vegetation suppression works for Phase 1. The execution is on schedule, with forest compensation activities underway, including the planting of native seedlings from the local nursery and the reintroduction of species in areas approved by the Brazilian Institute of the Environment and Renewable Natural Resources (Ibama). The goal is to plant 100,000 seedlings by the end of this phase.

The next steps of the works include land leveling, setting up the construction site, producing and transporting rocks for the construction of the southern breakwater, installing the concrete elements production facility, and dredging the access channel.

The Port

The full Porto Central project covers an area of 2,000 hectares along the southern coast of Espírito Santo (Brazil), with maritime depths of up to 25 meters and 54 berths designed for operations extending beyond the oil and derivatives sector. The port is designed to accommodate multipurpose terminals and industries for the handling and storage of liquid and solid bulk, grains, fertilizers, minerals, containers, general cargo, natural gas, offshore support, and shipyards.

Phase 1 includes the construction of a deepwater liquid bulk terminal designed for crude oil ship-to-ship (STS) transshipment. This operational model aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, optimize logistics, and minimize environmental risks, aligning with Brazil's logistics expansion strategy. It has the potential to attract new business opportunities and boost regional development.
