Brazil is one of the world’s largest exporters of iron ore, reaching 374 million tons in 2016. The new railroads EF-354 and EF-118 will allow the transportation of added volumes of iron ore from the State of Minas Gerais to the Brazilian coast.
In this scenario, Porto Central is a new and efficient port for the flow of minerals to be exported on an independent basis. Porto Central is a deep water port and can receive vessels such as Valemax capable of carrying over 350 thousand tons of iron ore.
The port complex will also provide the possibility of the construction of pelletizing plants in its industrial area and/or adjacent to it, optimizing the means of production.
