Memorandum of Understanding was concluded with M.A.R.S., Europe A/S, European subsidiary of M.A.R.S., Inc, specializing in complex projects and ship recycling

Porto Central heads towards the sustainable future of ship recycling. The project, which will be built in Presidente Kennedy, South Coast of Espírito Santo, signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for innovative feasibility research into the implementation of the shipyard that will perform these and other services in its area.

The collaboration agreement was signed with M.A.R.S., Europe A/S, a European subsidiary of M.A.R.S., Inc, specialized in complex projects and a reference in these operations. The partnership aims to carry out in-depth research to determine the feasibility and potential benefits of a project of this type in the south of Espírito Santo, reinforcing a commitment to sustainable practices and economic development.

Angelo Santos – COO Porto Central; Marcella Croes-Schalken – CCO M.A.R.S; Kim Thygesen – CEO M.A.R.S; Jessica Chan – Commercial Manager Porto Central

Together, the companies – leaders in logistics, construction and maritime services – accumulate experience, innovation and work, setting the stage for an innovative collaboration to explore the feasibility of a ship recycling and decommissioning yard in the new port.

The proposed project offers numerous benefits to the local community, economy and environment. In terms of scope and impact, the shipyard will have the potential to transform and positively influence areas of direct and indirect influence. This is because, in addition to the structure itself, the project includes related facilities, services and community involvement programs.

The benefits can be seen both in the short term, with the immediate economic impact, job creation and income generation, and in a longer period, such as improved quality of life, environmental preservation and sustainable growth. Furthermore, Porto Central encourages interested parties to consider the social, economic and environmental implications of the project to maximize its positive results and effectively face any challenges.

The memorandum and partnership with M.A.R.S. strengthen this commitment to establishing new benchmarks in the industry, demonstrating that economic success can, and should, go hand in hand with environmental and social responsibility. By collaborating, sharing knowledge and supporting each other's efforts, you can create a value chain that inspires others to adopt sustainable practices.
